Our primary objective is to provide a climate for children to develop socially,
emotionally, physically, and intellectually. We can be successful in this through
partnership with you as the parent. As you strive to provide the very best for you child,
be assured that we are joined together in this goal. May we offer a few suggestions that
will help your child through his/her preschool years?
In order to help your child succeed at school:
- Arrive on time to allow your child the opportunity to enjoy all of the classroom learning experiences.
- Pick children up promptly at dismissal to avoid causing your child concern and infringing upon teacher “prep time“.
- Address questions/concerns about the classroom directly to the teacher of your child.
- Help your child to understand the need for walking feet and quiet voices in the hallway.
- Keep children home when they are ill.
- Set a morning routine to include time for a personal routine, nourishing breakfast,
and pleasant ride to school in order to encourage a positive day.
- Make sure your child is dressed in comfortable, washable, and safe clothing. Save dress clothes, dress shoes,
and sandals for special occasions away from school.
- Celebrate each feat your child accomplishes - regardless of how big or small - with heartfelt joy.
During the first few weeks of school, don’t be disturbed if your child:
is shy and clings to you,
tires easily and possibly cries,
doesn’t talk much about what happened at school.
These are all symptoms of adjustment into a new situation, and will disappear as your child assimilates
into his/her new group of friends. Remember always: the more relaxed the parent, the more relaxed the child.
